Where do you take the photos?

There are so many wonderful outdoor locations in our beautiful city and I have some go-to favourites, depending on the look you’re after, the time of day and season. We can also do the session at home or at a park that is special to your family. I am based in Willoughby on Sydney’s lower North Shore and shoot primarily in a 20km radius. I can travel to you if you are out of the Greater Sydney region and a travel fee may apply,


How long does the photoshoot take?

Photoshoots usually take around an hour. I aim to get clicking pretty quickly and start to get a sense of the mood of the kids and their level of interest. Often the photos taken towards the end of the shoot will be the ones you love as everyone relaxes and becomes more comfortable in front of the camera.


What should we wear?

I’ll send you a PDF prior to our shoot with some hints and tips for clothing. Essentially, we want the images to be about you and your family, not your outfits. Aim for a simple palette of colours that complement each other across the whole group. You don’t need to be matchy-matchy in white & denim but try to limit colours to 3 or 4 tones. Importantly, avoid logos and busy patterns that can be really distracting. Remember - these photos will be displayed in your home so choose outfits that reflect you, your personalities & life!


Is there a session fee to book?

Yes, there is a $150 session fee payable upfront to confirm the time and date. This fee is not refundable and includes all our planning before the shoot, our time together and a viewing session after the shoot to view and order products. The session fee does not include any images or files.


 I want some really specific images – can you help with that?

Prior to your shoot, we’ll have a chat on the phone to help me understand your family, your hopes for the shoot and the ‘wishlist’ images. It will also let me know if there are any special needs, phobias, mobility issues that we need to take account of.


 What happens if it rains or someone is sick?

If the weather conspires against us or someone is not well, we can reschedule our session at no cost. In a perfect world, there is enough notice from both parties, but I do remember that life with kids - especially little people - is somewhat unpredictable!


 How long will it take to see the photos?

We can schedule a time for your viewing session in the following 2 weeks after the shoot and sooner if you are on a tight deadline. The viewing session will usually take around an hour and is done at my home in Willoughby.


 How many photos will we get?

I am a terrible over-shooter as I want as many facial expressions and options possible! I’ll then spend time curating a collection that you will love that won’t overwhelm you with duplicates or too many options. This is usually 50-80 images and sometimes more, depending on the type of shoot.


 How much will we need to spend?

There’s no minimum order and a great range of prints and products to choose from. Most clients spend between $750 and $2,500 and payments can be made via cash, electronic transfer or credit card. Payment plans can also be made available if required. My objective is to only sell you images and products that you treasure, within a budget that you’re comfortable with. You will have a PDF of the products and pricing prior to your shoot to show you some options. There is no high-pressure sales and I honestly only want you to print images that you love and want to display.


Can we get the digital files?

I do have digital file packages available but always encourage you to print your images. We are all buried in digital images that just get lost in the cloud and not celebrated on your walls. High-resolution files are provided complimentary with any print products. Individual digital files are $150 and full session packages are $1,595, with images provided in colour and black & white, and reference 5” x 7” prints provided. Purchase of digital images means you own these files for personal use only. Printing of these files at a non-professional lab means that colour reproduction cannot be guaranteed to match those printed with me.


 How long will it take to get my prints & products?

It is usually 3-4 weeks from ordering for delivery of products. A deposit of 50% is required at the time of ordering and full payment is required prior to collection.


 What if I don’t love the photos?

I work hard to ensure we have a great selection of poses, combinations, laughter and locations within a shoot to ensure you have a broad range of options to view. I’m sure there will be images you absolutely fall in love with from our session.


 What if I can’t decide what to print at our viewing session?

One viewing session is included in session booking. If you really can’t make a decision during our time together and need to schedule an additional meeting, this will be charged at $150. It is recommended that all “decision-makers” are present at these sessions and that any wall spaces have been measured and considered prior to our session to optimise your experience and deliberations.

 


How do I pay for prints & products?

I accept cash, direct transfer and credit card payments, processed via Stripe or Square. A 50% deposit is required at the time of ordering, with the balance payable prior to delivery of products. Once an order is made and your items are put into production, there is no refund due to the bespoke nature of the products.
