My beautiful mum recently celebrated her 80th birthday and Kirsten was there to document it. I had briefed Kirsten that her brother, who she had not seen for 27 years was a surprise guest, and that capturing that moment was critical. Words can’t express how amazing that set of images are, as mum first lays eyes on him and then moves towards him, tears in her eyes. They are absolutely priceless. Having Kirsten at this event was effortless. She managed to photograph every special person in mum’s life, in every possible combination - all my aunts and uncles, together for the first time in decades, alongside her children (including my brother who flew back from Canada), our crazy cousins, kids and neighbours. She chatted with guests, interacted with the kids (getting genuine smiles, even from the teenagers) and was a delight to have there. Kirsten then designed and managed printing of an album for mum that is a beloved record of her celebrations.

I urgently needed some extended family photos taken as a gift for my mum’s birthday. Kirsten was able to make this happen, scheduling the shoot to work for my three busy nieces in their early 20s and my three younger children!

She made the whole process comfortable & is a natural at making everyone feel at ease. The kids were laughing & talking. The shots were relaxed & beautifully real. Nothing felt staged or contrived.

The whole experience from the first call to the final delivery of the photos was absolutely flawless & we’ll definitely use her again.

We used Kirsten for some very special 70th birthday family photos. From beginning to end the whole project was easy and an enjoyable experience for everyone involved! Kirsten engaged with all 11 of us on the shoot – the kids loved her, meaning we got some great candid shots. The process of vetting and choosing photos was streamlined. With 3 families involved you can imagine this could be tricky but the process she uses made everything so much easier. The quality of finishes on photos and framing was top class and we now have a gorgeous gallery of photos which will sit on our walls forever. I would highly recommend Kirsten to anyone.

I utilised Kirsten Delaney’s photography services for a special birthday celebration at the home of the guest of honour. Kirsten had to capture the day in the best possible way which can be difficult when you are weaving your way around another persons rather crowded home taking guest photos. Kirsten did this in a very efficient, warm and friendly manner. And the final product of the photo album is superb. I would highly recommend Kirsten for your next special event.

DEB THOMPSON, August 2018

What a delight it was to have Kirsten photograph our wedding. Having both experienced previous marriages we had six beautiful children join us in our wedding party. Kirsten's photography was clean and crisp. Her ability to intuitively grab the moment produced images that expressed all individual personalities perfectly. She has provided us with beautiful memories to share with family and friends forever. Kirsten's casual persona masks the actual professional adaptability that she delivers. Her ability to adapt increased our confidence and trust in her on this special day. The very quick production of a special phone file of photos brought our memories to us on our honeymoon. What a joy.

Kirsten took the most amazing portraits of our extended family.  She entertained the misbehaving children until they were eating out of her hand, which narrowly avoided the adults reaching the end of their tether, and got us all looking at the camera smiling beautifully  – and at the same time!  Kirsten produced so many wonderful images  out of this chaos that it was hard to choose which to hang.

KATE WILLIAMS, Willoughby, March 2016

Kirsten’s images of our extended family were so special.  She managed to capture the essence of each person and seamlessly moved from group shots of 15 to small family portraits of three.  Kirsten worked so tirelessly over many hours on ‘location’ at McCarrs Creek to ensure she had the images we would be happy with.  She made all of us feel at ease and appeared so calm throughout the shoot.  We loved all the shots and we were so happy to present them framed to dad for his 70th birthday.  I would definitely recommend Kirsten.

I was so lucky to get Kirsten to do our family photos.  She was not only professional but put us all at ease, which created an environment where the kids personalities could really shine. She understood, being a mum herself, that getting everyone together and looking nice is challenging.  She made  the whole process easy & fuss free.

Kirsten, made me look and feel good during the shoot and I finally have some beautiful photos of me and the kids. She is amazing.

I would not hesitate to recommend her.

AMANDA LEY, Willoughby, November 2015

We had family photos taken for my dad’s 70th which involved 8 adults, and 6 grandchildren from 9 years and under. Kirsten took control the second she walked in the door and within 15 minutes she had taken the kids off on their own and snapped them looking their cutest, and just being very natural hanging with their cousins. She really captured their true character and all the mum’s were especially pleased. The pictures of the full group were also very natural and fun, and now have pride of place on our walls at home. The whole session seemed very relaxed and the photos are a testament to Kirsten’s photography skills, and her easy going nature. We would definitely recommend Kirsten for your family pics, and will no doubt book her again in a few years for the next family event.

MANDY KEVANS, Willoughby, August 2015

Dear Kirsten,

It is not often that a marriage celebrant would write to a wedding photographer but I felt that I had to write and pass on a massive thank you for your help at Diya and Mark’s wedding. Your friendliness and helpfulness made my job as the celebrant so much easier and allowed us both to focus on the couple on their special day.

As an ex-wedding photographer myself, it was a pleasure to see you at work. I found your personal touch and your warm caring attitude most admirable, especially in putting their children at ease.

Being a photographer with good technical skill is only one part of being a good wedding photographer. The other and more important part I believe is in being a kind and understanding person which helps bring out the best in your subjects at such an important occasion. Having seen the delightful wedding photographs, I know that you have both the technical and the people skills, which make you a truly excellent wedding photographer.

I wish you the very best and have no hesitation in recommending you.

I would highly recommend Kirsten Delaney Photography for any of your family, event or community photography. Kirsten has the perfect eye for capturing those special moments that make an occasion and bring the warm memories flooding back. Her eye for creativity and ability to capture children is a major strength. From start to finish it was a delightful experience and we will always be grateful, thanks Kirsten!

CAROLINE RENIKE, Willoughby, November 2014

Kirsten made us feel really comfortable during the shoot and we're really happy with the shots. She understood what we wanted and we all had a lot of fun. She's a true professional and has captured our family perfectly through her lens.

BELINDA DUCKWORTH, Castlecrag, September 2014

I was very keen to have some family photos taken of our family but didn’t want to go to one of the big studios. I wanted photos that were fun, relaxed and casual. Kirsten seemed to understand exactly what we wanted when I talked with her. It was really easy to arrange the shoot which we agreed would be at Willoughby Park, a place we spend a lot of time at with our kids. On the day, Kirsten made the whole experience great fun, the kids were totally relaxed around her and she managed to capture them perfectly. We couldn’t be more thrilled with the photos, they are everything we wanted and more – fun, relaxed and casual but she managed to make us all look good which is a bonus as well. I would recommend Kirsten to anyone who wants to have some wonderful photos taken by a fabulous photographer

SARAH BUTCHER, Willoughby, December 2013

Kirsten beautifully photographed our signature fundraising event of the year - The 2013 NSW Redkite Corporate Quiz. She was enthusiastic, professional, diligent and captured all of the special moments of the night on camera. She interacted with the guests wonderfully and the quality of her pictures were great. Thanks Kirsten!

Kirsten has been an irreplaceable resource during Willoughby Public School's sesquicentenary celebrations. She very capably and beautifully shot and compiled portrait images for the school's anniversary cookbook, of which over 2,000 were sold to the school and broader community. Kirsten was also was our photographer for the major event in August 2013 capturing an unforgettable evening for past and present families of our school, along with the community fair day in September and alumni celebrations. These all involved countless hours of her time for which she very happily devoted her energy and skills ensuring we have some priceless memories of this year. Kirsten was an absolute pleasure to deal with and I would have no hesitation in recommending her for photography work.

Kirsten was extremely flexible in scheduling our photo shoot. Despite the fact that we gave her just a tiny window in which to pull off the shoot, Kirsten somehow managed to capture a moment in our family life which will be treasured forever. It was a fun, relaxed photo session resulting in fresh and happy photos. The photos captured our family in a spontaneous way without being sentimental or cute. Kirsten suggested a look and style for the framing which worked beautifully in our home. The resulting family portrait hangs very proudly on our wall and I am absolutely delighted with it. Thank you Kirsten!
